300 Blackout +P+ out of Short Barrels
and why Walter thinks everyone should have a short 300 blackout for making drops and protecting their Dojo.
Despite the relative consensus on the internet, the 300 blackout was not developed to magdump the cheapest 220's a bowler can find on Ammo Seek into the berm to impress friends from work or a girl from Hinge. It was designed to give Tier 1 SOF offensive subsonic capabilities greater than the MP5SD and allow, with a mag change, supersonic performance that rivals the AKM. Now Walter has gone on at length about the ballistics of shooting HOTLOADs out of a 12.5 Minifix and 12.5 Noveske Barreled AR15 as a great do-all set up, but how do they do out of a Honey badger or a 7.94 Noveske Barrel? Well, Walter and Donny have been very excited about this premise, and I think for most people, this is probably the most flexible defensive weapon for most bowlers in North America.

Walter's MP5SD shooting 124 grain Blazer averaged 969 FPS, giving it ballistics similar to a.380 auto. Donny's Honey Badger shooting 188 Discreet Ballistic Solus averaged 1105 FPS, with increased velocity and incomparable terminal ballistics. This isn't even really a competition, and Walter won't really dwell on it, but rest assured the 300 blackout is vastly superior.

Now the real interesting comparison, as far as Walter sees it, is looking at the performance of the 120 grain Walter Hotloads out of the short 300's and comparing it to the preferred weapon of the man in the black pajamas, the AKM, shooting a 123 grain wolf. As far as Walter could dig up, the 123's have a BC of around.3 and are doing 2239 out of a 16-inch barrel. These go subsonic at 515 yards at Walter's elevation.

Walter’s HOTLOADs are doing 2100 FPS out of Donny's HoneyBadger and 2270 out of Walter's homebrew Noveske and have a bc of .36 and go subsonic at 550 and 625 yards, respectively. Half the barrel length with better external ballistics? Spank Walter's ass and call him Charlie! As any bowler that's shot an AKM at anything other than a stollen garden gnomes and broken rear projection TV knows in a gravel pit, they group like garbage, and while a nice setup like a Honey Badger or a Diplomat barrel from Noveske will print groups with Walter's HOTLOADS that will make Rob from the AKOU blush.

Now Walter and Donny have two setups here: a Honey Badger SD with a thermal, Holosun laser, and an offset, and a Noveske Home Brew with an eotech on a slade mount with a flashlight and law folder, and a Scythe TI. Will this set up hang with a 14.5 6arc? Absolutely not, but if we think about set up through the lens of "I Don't Call 911," which is now in stock in the store, btw, this short, light, handy rifle, and has more than enough ass to fill in the back of a fleeing kidnapper on a dirty bike across a wooden bridge over an arroyo after Walter eats shit rolling out of the Dude’s car. Walter believes that bowlers should be realistic about ranges and pick a caliber and barrel length accordingly. Not even accounting for the subsonic performance, These 7-8 inch 300 blackout offer supersonic performance outside the combat ranges of 98% of combat kills during the debacle in South East Asia known as the Vietnam War.
Think of these short 300 Blackouts as the equivalent to a Leatherman Skeletool, Walter’s preferred multitool. Is it the best at everything? But Walter is hard pressed to think of a situation where it wouldn’t work to qual the aggressions of a nihilist, pederast, invading Chinamen or even deterring the totalitarian acts of an overly larger and centralized government.
Now before Walter’s coffee gets cold, he would like to briefly address the pending release of the 338 ARC as it pertains to this barrel length and application. There is not a version of this world where an 8 inch 338 ARC will ever be supersonic past 500 yards except where spherical ball powder is exchanged for plastic explosive and blasted out of miniature tank action. Think of 338 ARC as a powerful pistol magnum caliber, with a 300 grain projectile doing 1050 and a 175 grain doing 1700 FPS out of a short barrel, whereas 300 Blackout is a powerful handgun, 188-250 grain sub doing 1050, and an intermediate rifle round, 120 grain doing 2270, all in one.
Nothing is Fucked Backplates, If You Will It, It Is No Dream shirts, and "I Don't Call 911" shirts are in stock and shipping for the webstore, and no Walter is not selling his patented, Warranty Voiding HOTLOADS!
12.5 is the most versatile, especially if you plan on hunting with it!
I concur. My main rifle is a Honey Badger SBR with a Thunder Chicken, NF NX8 1-8, and iRay RH25 clip-on. I'm currently running Discreet 188gr and Barnes 215gr hybrids.
Public Service Announcement: Traditional Trust wait times are now 30 days. Bowlers have no excuse to not have a stack of suppressors and SBRs in a trust that their family and friends can also use.
Bowlers are not mindful of the fact they don't have close air support. Sound and thermal signature should be top priorities. Who cares if your "insert popular cartridge of the month" has superior ballistics if one shot draws everyone's attention in a 2 mile radius?
