The Ballistic Reference Card
because the best ballistic calculator is the one you have with you.
In the age of weapon-mounted laser range finders with applied ballistics, thermal binoculars with laser range finders, and portable weather stations that fit in a bowler's pocket and provide real-time environmental data, the best ballistic calculator is the one you have with you when you need it. Walter is a firm believer in the ethos of ingraining important information into his feeble mind and using this as a baseline to come up with a shooting solution. With this in mind, Walter came up with the Sobchak Security LLC Ballistic Reference cards with eight common cartridges and muzzle velocities as well as two empty spaces for bowlers to fill in their own data. In the case of the cards pictured here, Walter filled in the data for 103 grain 6 Creedmoor and the prototype for the upcoming 180 grain Walter Security 8.6 Hotload.
Walter envisions bowlers keeping one of these in their range bag to use as reference when setting up a profile in a ballistic calculator, helping a fellow bowler get on target who doesn't have their rifle doped, or using it as a baseline shooting solution. Like with the Ranging Cards, the Ballistic Reference Cards will fit in an AR-15 mag pouch and eyelet for a lanyard.
Walter recommends using an extra-fine Sharpie or dry-erase pen for filling in your own data.
The Ballistic Reference Cards are available in MIL's and MOA here. If you will it, it is no dream!
